TECHNICAL SUMMARY
What is Enzyon 500™?
Phytase is an enzyme found in nature mainly in plants. It is formed in the stage of sprouting to supply phosphorous during plant growth. Phytase is also found in the small intestine mucous of many animals, and in case of micro-organisms, it is found in Aspergillus sp. and yeast. Its is obtained by a NON-GMO natural process from Aspergillus Nн Niger.
Mode of action:
Inositol Hexaphosphate, (IH), present in grains and beans, contain one to three percent of (IH), of which, 60% to 80% is phosphoric acid. Wheat:0.6 to 1.4 % (w/w); Bran:2.6 to 5.4 % (w/w); Soy Flakes:1.5 to 1.8% (w/w), Prot. Concr: 2.0 to 3.0% (w/w) Phytase breaks down the (IH) molecule releasing its phosphoric acid content making it bioavailable to the animal, thus reducing the need for inorganic phosphate.
Savings in formulation, economic benefits and units of activity:
Enzyon 500™, when added to feed at the recommended levels, allows for savings of 1.5% protein and 0.1 % phosphorous in formulation. This represents a savings of at least 600% its cost of inclusion per MT of feed. One unit of activity of phytase in Enzyon 500™ is the amount of enzyme required to liberate 1 micromole of inorganic phosphorous per minute under the conditions of its assay method. One PPX U* (unit of activity) is the amount of enzyme required to produce, together, an increase of 0.1% (w/w) of liberated phosphorous and an increase of 1.5 % ( w/w) soluble protein in a gram of standard formulated feed ration, at pH 5, at 37 degrees Celsius. Enzyon 500™ contains 5000 PPX U* per gram.
Other benefits:
Inositol Hexaphosphate (IH), binds minerals, such as iron, calcium, magnesium in feed, diminishing their bioavailability. It also forms an undissolved complex with protein which prevents activity of digestive enzymes, decreasing digestibility of proteins and their functions, such as emulsifying. Phosphoric acid in (IH) cannot be used by single stomach animals. Therefore, the need to add inorganic phosphate in feeds as an additive. However, (IH) is secreted in feces, creating environmental problems in large swine operations.
In the Netherlands, the use of poultry manure as a fertilizer is regulated per regards to the amount of phosphate (P2O5) per acr..
Rate of application :
100 grams per MT of feed. It can be pre-mixed or dispensed directly into the mixer without pre-mixing. This inclusion rate provide 500,000 PPX U* units per MT of feed.
Soluble in water:
Finisher 40 grms (Enzyon 500™) dissolved in 1000 Liters of water for 500 pigs
Grower 40 grms (Enzyon 500™) dissolved in 1000 Liters of water for 1000 pigs
Poultry 50 grms (Enzyon 500™) dissolved in 1000 Liters of water for 10,000 Chickens.
Characteristics:
Activity vs. Temperature: 100% Act.@ 60 єC. ( Range 48єC to 68єC ). Activity vs. pH: 100% Act. @ pH 6. (Range from 5.5 to 7). However, Enzyon 500™ can be pelletized at maximum: 80 degrees Celsius for 30 seconds, max with an approximate 5% to 10% enzyme loss. It is 100% soluble in water. For maximum effect, add after pelleting.
Packaging:
Enzyon 500™ is packed for bulk shipments in 20kg boxes lined with special poly-plastic bag. It can also be packed in smaller poly bags as required by customer.
AMINOGRAM INTERPRETATION
The hydrolytic action of Enzyon 500™ on innositol hexaphosphate increases the bio-availability of phosphorous, as well as other nutrients in feeds. The presence of inositol hexaphosphate binds minerals and forms an undissolved complex with proteins, diminishing the bioavailability of nutrients in feeds. The breaking up of inositol hexaphosphate by Enzyon 500, not only releases phosphorous, but a number of other nutrients, as expressed by the accompanying aminogram.
The values that appear in the aminogram are in terms of percentages and only take into account the hydrolytic action of Enzyon 500™. The percentages are directly related to the Enzyon 500™ rate of inclusion in the feed (grams/MT of feed).
In order to determine the % additional value of each nutrient made available to the animal due to each enzyme's hydrolytic action , the following formula should be used.
Thus the nutritional value for each nutrient in % per Mt of feed equals:
[Nutrient's (%) value in the aminogram X (Dosage in grams) Enzyon 500™ / MT of Feed]/
(1,000,000 grams / MT)
Making this calculation for each nutrient in the aminogram will determine the total savings in formulation by Enzyon 500™.
METHOD OF ASSAY TO DETERMINE PPX *U ( UNITS)
Definitions:
PPX U* definition:
- An PPX U* (Unit) is the amount of Enzyon 500™ required to produce, together, an additional 1.5% of soluble protein and an additional 0.1% free phosphorous in feed rations.
- One gram of Enzyon 500™ contains 5,000 units of PPX U*.
Mode of application:
The hydrolytic action of Enzyon 500™ on inositol hexaphosphate (IH) increases the bioavailabilty of phosphorous, as well as proteins in feed rations. Inositol hexaphosphate (IH) binds minerals and undissolved complexes (that bind proteins), diminishing the bioavailability of these proteins in the animal gut. The breaking up of (IH) by Enzyon 500™ releases free phosphorous and unbinds these protein, making them more bioavailable to the animal. This action allows for formulating rations with less phosphorous and less protein, producing a savings in said formulation.
Method of assay:
The object of the method of assay is to determine the increase of free phosphorous and soluble protein in the ration in the ration.
- Take one 2kg of poultry grower feed and mix in two separate jars, each with a 1 liter solution (Ph 5) simulating the gastric juice composition.
- In one jar, apply 1 (one) gram of Enzyon 500™.
- The other jar (control), stays the same.
- Incubate both jars for 24 hours, at gut temperature while stirring mildly and continuously.
- After 24 hours analyze for free phosphorous by means of a spectrometer and for soluble protein.
